what's the deal with crowley from chesterfield. is he not wrestling this year or being held out until january?

Woodruff, even though they lost a few seniors last year, they are solid....seen them wrestle at the Abbeville duals...will be surprised if they arent the top 2A team coming out of the upstate...

ramfan, if it is franklin crowley you are asking about, he is wrestling for St. James High School this year.

Ok i was looking at some of the results and Marion forf 5 weight classes. Was that just for that match or what? Bc i doubt very seriously that will hold up come playoff time. JW

So im guessing Emerald will get an awesome seed and there wrestlers will also. They have wrestled Whitmire and Wareshoals twice. Come on coach..get a real schedule. They should be ranked 20th. Thats like wrestling Blackburg all season just for wins.

As all teams go through in Dec. injury and illness. their team will not change much though. hats off to chesterfield for another great two days on the mat. Hope the holidays bring all better health and rest. All teams and individuals need it. lets get ready to roll in for the remainder of the season, Congrats to Chesterfield, Loris and Marion. Special Congrats to coach Porter on his 300th career win..

-I have a hard time not seeing Maltby in the mix at 125 come Feb. He did poorly at the Southern Slam last year and then placed 2nd to Uc Tun. Unless he is injured or having some issues, I wouldn't bet against him there.
-Hard to not see Jason Aluague from BE not in the rankings at 130/135. He placed at the Southern Slam, won the Holiday Classic, and beat #3(4a) ranked Warren Streety of West Ashley.

Chesterfield kicked off 5 of their starters after the third match of the tournament, including Hannah and their freshman 103 who was going to be a stud. They won the tournament with only one returning SQ in the lineup (Alley). They have a bunch of no-namers that know how to wrestle.

reading all the posts, I have to agree with Lex about maltby. Then "old brav" ? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious. Would love do hear details vs. speculation. Chesterfield has always be the poster team. To face them on the mat is a highlight of the year. I'm sure the coach has done the right thing.

Maltby like alot of wrestlers has struggled with weight issues, so has been out the line-up at different times. He was out the line-up at the Ram Rumble for off the mat things. Hopefully he will be back soon. He was NOT involved in the thing with starters that got in trouble and were removed from the team. Hope this is what answers you were looking for.

The team is better off without them in the long run. Erbody was sick of them anyway.

If Johnson shouldn't be #1 ranked in 1a/2a for 112, who should be? Of those listed at that weight, I don't see anyone close right now. Sorry. Take a look at JJ now versus last year at state. He is dramatically improved. He is undefeated at 112. Undefeated at 119. Beaten a number of ranked guys from other divisions at both weights.

Wrestling spring-summer-pre season all over the country against solid competition will do that. He must be in a good off season club or something...

who were the 5 that got removed from Chesterfield's team? i won't speculate on the rules thing b/c knowing the program, you have to have done something real stupid to warrant getting kicked off the team.
