any word on how chesterfield did @ western harnett today?

We went 3-2 (no 103 or HWT)
Won first round against Triton 69-12
Lost second round to Cary 33-27 (#1 ranked team in 4A NC)
Won third round against Northwoods (not sure of score-big margin)
Lost fourth round against Union Pines(ugly match lost big- #1 3A team in NC)
Won fifth round against Lee County by large margin.

Malby, Harper, Gulledge and Crowley all went 5-0 on the day.

It was just another weekend of Chesterfield dodging that tough competition down in Columbia or the lowerstate.

Chesterfield went 3-2, losing to Cary and Union Pines.

Union Pines loss was of no concern. Cfield did some lineup shifting and got some good mat time in for a lot of kids....they went for the Cary match.

Cary match was awesome. Cfield lost 33-27 but they had the 20X NC state champs on their toes. Daniel Trexler was robbed of a win against 2X state champ Ben Creed and eventually lost 9-7 in OT. The ref would later admit to the blunder....we have that match and we win on criteria.

Cary is like 517-3 in the regular season over the past twenty years....they are so big Will Ferrell sports their gear. It was close to an EPIC upset, but coulda...shoulda....woulda...I've always said there are no moral victories in this sport but I may have to rethink that.

The forfeits are taking a toll on Cfield right now, giving up 12 points every dual match.

Congrats to Jared Maltby for beating 3 state placers and one SQ in one day. Franklin Crowley also finished 5-0 at 145 as well as Ian Harper at 135 and Nick Gulledge at 140.

IF BE catches you at Lakeland Duals (likely the only time we will see you before lower state), would you be up for a minor challenge? As you know, we are light in numbers. We may only have close to 8 or 9 weights by then due to injuries. Let me pick 8 weight classes that you can wrestle against us. The rest you forfeit. You should still win convincingly, but this will give us a ray of hope.

What say you?

i'm not the coach...if you pick 8 and we forfeit the rest you could pick the weight classes that we already forfeit...it would be a Baptist Hill vs. Burke match two years ago where there was only one match actually wrestled.
