hanahan scores were in post and courier. Waccamaw has some talented wrestlers but the matchups didn't help.

just saw the results posted on scmat with w.shoals match. tough to make a guess with the forfeits.

The score board is there to tell the parents when to go home. We are talking about the W S wrestlers. THey might have got beat but they look like they are learning moves for the first time ever. They where trying moves I have never seen them try before in both matches. I know it is hard to wrestle BHP and CHS but the kids are trying and not giving up. They look like they are having fun for the first time ever. Great Job Coach Gilbert. WS kids keep up the good work. COACH MANF and GILBert are good coaches.

Ware Shoals wrestles Pendelton and Emerald tonight in Ware Shoals. I say Ware Shoals wins both matches after seeing how well they did against Crescent.

Saw Hanahan wrestle West Ashley and North Charleston last night.
They had a full team and won both matches easy. North Charleston needs an overhaul.
West Ashley's freshmen at 152 almost beat Flores from Hanahan.
Hanahan's little white kid at 119 was legit. Their big guys were not.

I don't see a clear favorite in 2a for the state duals. I think 1a has several teams that are better.

The "little white guy" at 119 is actually their 112. He wrestled up. And yes, he is legit, but "white" doesn't distinguish him much... I didn't see a lot of color on Hanahan's team last night.

The 152 from West Ashley was Bobby Ruff. Ruff was a studd youth wrestler that placed/won a number of national events growing up. It was a 1-0 match going into the 3rd. Flores (only a 2nd year wrestler) got the escape tieing it at 1-1. Flores then wore Ruff down and broke him mentally with superior position and conditioning. Final score was like 6- or 8 to 1. Ruff is going to be a studd. To say he almost beat Flores is not accurate. Everytime they engaged he ran out of bounds. Probably should have been called for fleeing the mat a few times it was that bad.

Don't take anything away from Flores. He is barely in his second year and is a studd. IF he chooses to pursue wrestling beyond just Hanahan high school season, look out. Could be Div I.

lex, your correct with Flores. His work ethic is contagious in the mat room. What's more impressive is his natural athletisism. 2 months ago he was kicking 40 yard field goals before practice.
Ruff is a freshman? We can all look fwd to that matchup at the Hawk invite.

Thats that wrestling on the edge of the mat they learn at The Citadel. Its a good idea if you not secure in your takedown defence, but I told Dennis to keep it in the middle and that put an end to that. Easy solution, Any coach could see it.

What should have been said was "That sucks having to have Flores for your welcome to high school wrestling match." I think Ruff can be a beast if he can focus on the important things like stance and position as opposed to clinic moves and evasion tactics. C-LEWIS hit the nail on the head. He has a very capable young coach in the room to help him. Brandon kept Geiges honest.

Both Palmetto and Chesnee are hit with the injury bug pretty bad. Thats the way the sport goes..gotta have backups.

How do the Hanahan fans think they will do when they face normally solid Stratford and then Fort D next week? A big step up from the schedule thus far. I think they will take Stratford. I think Fort D is still a tough matchup for them.

I heard Bishop England beat West Ashley tonight. nice little win for a young team.

Kudos to Jason Aluague in beating Warren Streety. Very nice win.

not sure about the fans thoughts but I do know if we don't get focussed and comitted to the weight program and their diets it could be a long week
