| matches that I would like to see...regardless of class
#1- Feix vs. Coles...Feix seems like the most dominant and intense wrestler this season but Coles is the best ever in SC. Coles style shuts down Feix offense. If this happens someone please put this on the internet so I can watch.
#2 Cowan vs. Beck...hard to score on Cowan but if anyone can it will be Beck.
#3 Creed vs. Sullivan...both a similar wrestlers....both Chertow boys.
#4 Morris vs. Crawford...never seen Crawford but he was picked over Tuck to represent SC then he is pretty good...seems like a logical match.
#5 Newton vs. Mockridge...Mockridge is sneaky good....better match than what many would expect....I give the edge to Newton by 3 points.

| I think Morris takes it from Crawford. I was told that the Liberty kid Taylor was seeded number one at Upperstate because he defeated Crawford. Have watched him wrestle and just hard to tell a dominant wrestler at 171 this year. Cowan is an athlete but I believe Beck wins this one. I just can't see Coles losing this year. Have not been able to see Mockridge this year so I am not sure on that one. | |

| I do not think the Newton Mockridge would be that close. Abeyta beat Mockridge 10-2 in the semifinals at Upperstate and Newton basically had his way with Abeyta tjis year. | |

| Saw the vids and they were quite telling.
The GA kids were MUCH better with their hips and defense than our guys were. If you look on GA's site, it seems they have 3 freestyle/greco tournaments every weekend. Their kids are much more involved in that and it shows.

| Wow, Coles v Lazor was a great matchup, I think Lazor pulled out the one point win just because he got a bonus point for having an awesome name like LAZOR | |

| Freestyle and Greco would probably help. Has anyone approached Mike Sanders about getting that started? Team Palmetto should get involved. | |

| That is funny about Lazor. I always thought Matt Dragon (wrestles for Penn) should have dominated like Metcalf because of his name.
As for Freestlye/greco.........they are the basis of wrestling. As far as I know, Mike has tried to cooperate with the SCUSA guys. He even has links and information to the USA Wrestling regional and national tournaments whereas the people who should be promoting it EVERYWHERE are nowhere to be found and cannot return a d---call or email. Don't get me started. GA and NC both have multiple freestyle/greco tournaments each weekend during the spring. Living in Charleston, We only have one f'n tournament within an hour's drive. Before anyone says "You should hold one," we offered/asked last year and this year. Last year we were told yes and it was taken away and given to Fort Mill which was a disaster. This year they gave would not return a call.
SC will never catch up so long as freestyle/greco are not staples in every SC wrestler's diet. Something I have known and said forever, but you can all see for yourselves watching the North/South on Flowwrestling.

| The ironman in greenwood has freestyle grecoand folkstyle. SCUSA has a schedule out. It should be on their website by now. The first tournament is at riverside on march 21. They have one at west oak on may 9 and several others.. If they can get the guys out and run some good tournaments maybe they will have a successful season. | |

| We took a group to the Greenwood Ironman last year. It was very well run. Freestyle and Greco one day, folk the last day. We plan to go back this year if possible. | |
