LSO has a great summary of the past 1A-2A wrestlers that are in college now. How are they doing? Any have a chance of contributing this year? Rholetter starting at Limestone? What about Cowan at MMI? How cool and confusing is it for Josh to wrestle for two two-time Olympian coaches who are identical twins? LSO, how is Dalton doing? Any chance you could create an area on here that links to results/match videos (FloWrestling) for these kids?

Tonight Crescent, Pendleton and Walhalla wrestled at Crescent. Wasnt there but was told Pendleton looked much improved and had some great numbers, and that Walhalla didnt look much better than last year and Crescent a little better than last minus a few starters. Match of the night was Rankin and Whitfield with Rankin winning 8-6, both looked a little heavier than 119 though. Walhalla won against Crescent and Pendleton and Crescent beat Pendleton.

We will probably run a round robin so everyone will get 4-6 matches and run one 3 minute period with modified folkstyle rules like the OTC in Ohio. That format seemed to work real well. Wrestlers will be brought back to their feet like freestyle. That will enable everyone get more matches and not be so tired like last year. Last year we had about 80 kids ...

USA Wrestling came out with their updated "Future Olympian" rankings prior to Fargo.

I looked through the Cadets (8th-some 10th) and Juniors (10th-12th grade) divisions because they are what is pertinent to High School. SC had six noteables.

Juniors (10-12th grades):

Derek Geiges ranked #8 at 119~Pitbull Wrestling Club

Patrick Mestrez ranked #19 at 125~Pitbull Wrestling Club

Cadets (8th-some 10th grade):

Jordan Wigger ranked #9 at 105~Citadel Old Timers Club

Random thoughts here, please comment:

I have been pondering the idea of an "unofficial" A-AA middle school state championship.

Does anyone else think that this would be a good event to host some time before the Carolina Open?

When would be good dates and who could host it? Do not wanna but heads with the Carolina Open and its qualifiers.

Best date in my mind would be the same date as the Carolina Duals at Rock Hill. How many A-AA teams enter a MS team into it? ...

Wondering who in the state is going to Fargo for Cadet/Junior Nationals?

I know Derek Geiges, Patrick Mestrez, Jordan Wigger, Eli Ashby, Nic thompsonBrian Ettari, etc should be going (they all qualified at least).

In SC, some kids are allowed to go without placeng at SE Regionals. Who else in high school is going to try and win a title or become an All American at the largest, most recognized national tournament in the country?

Southeast Regionals was large this year with (I'm told) ...

Just got back from the Hannahan tournament. Well run and smooth tournament. Turnout was light due to senior proms the nite before. There is a need for dual tournaments, one in the upstate and one lower. I do not think that it would affect each others tournament. Instead of having one tourney with 30-50 kids youwould have two with 30-50 kids possibly more. I hope USA can capitalize on that. Looking forward to the newberry and Ironman tournament and the ironman warmup.
